The Joy of Turquoise

I have a fascination with Turquoise. I first became really aware of it when I looked at photographs of Egypt. I was quite young, maybe ten. At that point, I related that we in America had Turquoise as well. And then when I started working for my uncle, Patrick Dennis Sieler, I got to see the variety that was Turquoise.

This necklace is American and the darker beads are Chinese Turquoise. The large circle is Chinese Turquoise and the coin is Chinese and obviously well used. Hopefully there is a lot of Chinese luck coming with the coin.

The clasp has tiny fresh water Pearls on the ends.

What a lovely mix, I had no idea Turquoise is found so many places. I like the combining with this neclace...strong piece. If you have the time and desire...I would love to hear of your jewelry making days with uncle.

Mmmm. Love the clasp with it's tiny pearls. I've never thought of turquoise being Egyptian...

Hello Patrice, Turqouise does not come from Egypt. The Egyptians traded it from the Persians, who mined it in their hills, and I am sure, who traded it also from the Chinese.

So many wonderful pieces you have. This is exquisite, and it would seem by looking at it that it has some deeper sort of resonating feel, a strength of its own. Seems like the wearer might be protected, blessed? Not sure, but it has energy for sure.
